Once more the fortieth day has dawned upon our sight,
When Imam Hussain and his comrades fought the fight,
Martyred by the army of tyrant Yazeed’s might,
Who sought to quell the voice of justice, day and night.
Ashura, that fateful day of blood and pain,
Where wolves of rage did mercilessly reign,
Slaying the bearers of justice, a brutal stain,
Ravaging Hussein’s camp, showing no restrain.
Innocent women and children, terrorized and oppressed,
Their dignity shattered, their hearts in distress,
Yet Imam Hussein chose the path of non-violence, no less,
To educate God’s foes, amidst the storm’s caress.
From Karbala’s plain his family was led,
Chains on their wrists, witnessing the bloodshed,
Through scorching deserts, towards Yazid’s dread,
Their journey marked by Hussein’s martyrdom, widespread.
Lady Zaynab, with strength and grace untold,
Shared the tragic tale, a story to unfold,
Of her brother’s mission, to end tyranny’s hold,
A message of justice and courage, bold.
Year after year, on the fortieth day’s call,
Pilgrims march in honor, united one and all,
To pay homage to Hussein, who stood tall,
In peaceful strides, they heed the sacred call.
They carry the message of resistance and might,
With wisdom and patience, shunning hatred’s blight,
Upholding free will, compassion shining bright,
A goal they strive for till Mahdi’s guiding light.
This mission, engraved in our hearts for eternity,
As teachers and leaders, we guide with certainty,
To face modern struggles, non-violently,
Marching the path of Hussein, courageously.
The march continues, for justice, freedom, and peace,
Its echoes resounding, never to cease,
In Karbala’s gathering, pilgrims find release,
Pledging allegiance to the master, their hearts at peace.
They pave the way for the awaited Mahdi’s release,
Preparing the world for his justice and bliss.
