The World Islamic Summit on Education (WISE) is an independent, non-governmental, nonprofit and non-partisan forum and community dedicated to advancing Islamic education globally. We bring together educational practitioners, activists, and institutions from schools to develop ideas, share experiences, and build cooperative partnerships that strengthen Islamic education in theory, practice and organization.
WISE is a school based network. It starts from schools; proceeds on the shoulders and with the will of the schools and ends in the schools. While respecting the sovereignty and diversity of different countries and communities, WISE operates as an independent platform to empower Muslims educators around the world. We are a non-profit organization sustained through donations and income from educational events and programs. Our goal is to serve as a hub connecting Islamic schools, informing the Muslim community, and empowering Muslim teachers across the world.
WISE aims to foster cooperation and sharing between Islamic schools internationally by planning and facilitating joint initiatives, holding webinars, and enabling the exchange of educational content and best practices. We believe that by creating opportunities for collaboration across borders, we can gain valuable new perspectives, access wider pools of knowledge, and work together to address shared challenges more effectively.
We invite all Islamic schools, teachers and parents to join this open forum. Together we can build a strong global community of Muslim educators, learn from each other and find innovative solutions to challenges facing Islamic education today. Let us cooperate, share experiences and resources to nurture the next generation of Muslim youth.
Islamic education faces some difficulties in today’s world, including lack of resources, shortage of well-trained teachers, and threats from extremism and Islamophobia. By bringing together educators and schools from diverse backgrounds, WISE seeks to build understanding, highlight examples of excellence, and develop comprehensive solutions that can be adapted across different contexts. We promote a vision of Islamic education that combines academic rigor, spiritual nurturing, and civic responsibility.
WISE operates as a platform to cultivate and spread innovative ideas that can revitalize Islamic schools and curricula. We run conferences, workshops, and online programs covering topics such as integrating technology in the classroom, developing interfaith partnerships, and training teachers in critical thinking and student-centered methods. Educators can connect through WISE to mentor each other, team up on new initiatives, and access a wide range of resources to enhance their teaching.
The Muslim world is home to a rich diversity of cultures, interpretations of Islam, and approaches to education. WISE aims to be an inclusive forum that brings together this diversity, builds upon shared values, and helps schools from across the Muslim world to learn from and motivate each other. By cooperating and pooling together our knowledge and resources, we believe Muslim educators and schools can thrive and better prepare students to navigate today’s complex world. Together, we strive to cultivate generations of young Muslims who are spiritually grounded, intellectually competent, and positively engaged in their communities.
