Abrahim Al-Zubeidi

Abrahim Al-Zubeidi is an educator, writer, and lecturer, leading the Religious Studies and Faith Department as the Head of Illumination at an Islamic college in Adelaide, Australia. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering and a Bachelor of Business from Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne, as well as a Master of Teaching, focusing on Islamic pedagogy and science education, from the University of South Australia. Abrahim is advancing his studies in Islamic sciences, holding a diploma in Islamic theology from eHawza and currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Islamic sciences with a specialization in analytical jurisprudence and Quranic exegesis.

In addition to his role at the college, he collaborates with the Centre for Islamic Thought and Education to develop teacher development courses. He is actively involved with various communities, delivering lectures, conducting workshops, and facilitating spiritual discussion circles that address contemporary faith-related issues. Abrahim is also a poet and reciter, with some of his works published in his first anthology, “Tears from Heaven’s Flowers.”

Moreover, Abrahim collaborates with WISEForum, contributing to interactive workshops that explore wellbeing and character development in Islamic schools. These workshops, such as the Journey to Simurgh program, adopt a God-centric approach to character development, contrasting it with human-centric models. Through these sessions, Abrahim analyzes the impact of these orientations on the human experience, drawing inspiration from Attar’s spiritual epic poem, Mantiq at-Tayr (The Conference of the Birds). The workshops aim to inspire participants to reflect on and renew their approaches to character and wellbeing, considering practical implications and how they can draw on the Islamic tradition to enhance their own practices.
