The WISE Education and Research (ER) Department plays a pivotal role in advancing educational and research-based initiatives that align with the mission of WISE. Focused on fostering collaboration and innovation, WISE ER oversees a diverse array of programs and projects designed to enhance educational experiences, empower educators and students, and contribute to the broader field of Islamic education.
The department’s responsibilities include:
- Formal Educational Programs: Initiatives such as teacher training that fall outside the scope of other WISE projects.
- Research and Publications: Conducting and supporting formal research efforts and producing related publications that contribute to the field of education.
- School-Level Collaborations: Facilitating partnerships among WISE member schools, including school visits and other collaborative activities.
- Student-Level Collaborations: Coordinating efforts between WISE member schools to organize student activities such as tours and educational trips, fostering a sense of community and shared purpose.
Among its latest initiatives, WISE ER proudly collaborates with Al-Zeitune and Al-Teen Media Collective, a project aimed at empowering Muslim youth. This project exemplifies the department’s commitment to meaningful engagement and highlights its focus on nurturing creativity, connection, and expression within the community.
Al-Teen Magazine: Empowering the Voices of Muslim Youth
Founded by two high school students at RISE Academy, Al-Teen Magazine represents a bold step forward in amplifying the voices of Muslim youth in the West. Through a combination of print and digital platforms, this magazine creates a space for young Muslims to connect, express, and contribute to their communities.
Mission Statement:
To empower Muslim youth in the West through community, connection, and expression.
WISE ER invites member schools and their students to actively contribute to and partner with the Zeitoun Media Collective (ZMC), working together to amplify youth voices and foster meaningful connections.
