WISE Forum is pleased to continue its partnership with the Urwatul Wuthqa Qur’an Competition, offering students an inspiring opportunity to strengthen their relationship with the Holy Qur’an through recitation, memorisation, understanding and reflection.
The 2026–2027 programme is designed as a year-long journey. Participating schools are invited to make regular Qur’an listening and recitation part of their school routine, following an age-appropriate monthly schedule. The programme can be adapted for daily schools, Sunday and weekend schools, and online programmes.
Schools wishing to participate should submit the Interest Form by 31 January 2027. Schools that confirm their participation will receive the finalist registration form in March 2027, InshaAllah.

A Simple Two-Step Learning Method
Each assigned section is studied over two months:
- Learn each ayah. During the first month, students listen to each ayah twice. The first listening helps them follow the words carefully; during the second, they recite along with the recommended Qari. This stage focuses on the words, pronunciation and correct recitation of each ayah.
- Build fluency. During the following month, students listen to and recite the entire assigned section twice. This helps them connect the ayahs, improve fluency and develop smoother continuous recitation.
The recommended reciter is Qari Parhizgar. Schools may use Tanzil.net to display the Arabic text while students listen. The recommended English translations are Qarai and Sahih International.
How Schools Can Take Part
Daily schools are encouraged to devote approximately ten minutes each day to Qur’an listening and recitation. Sunday and weekend schools can introduce and practise the assigned material during class and encourage students to continue listening at home. Online teachers can share the Qur’an passage on screen, play the recommended recitation and invite students to follow and recite along.
Families are an important part of the programme, especially for students attending school once or twice a week. Listening can become part of familiar routines: during the journey to school, at breakfast, during a quiet activity or before bedtime. Even a few regular minutes can help students develop confidence, fluency and a lasting connection with the Qur’an.
All new assigned material should be completed before April. The final weeks are devoted to review, pronunciation, fluency, memorisation and preparation for the competition.
